Young people can also join diverse clubs, such as the Japanese anime and Manga lovers club “Maneki-Neko”, the Japanese language club, spend time in the board games club, learn about fashion and design in the club “Fashion Icon”, and explore personal horoscopes or space curiosities in the club “Cosmos”.
A plenty of educational programs are held in the Open Space for Youth, and classes can be registered for them. You can get more information about the youth space by visiting in person or on the library’s website.
Since 2024, we are waiting for our youngest and younger visitors in the reniewed, bright, and colorful premises at Aukštaičių St. 4C–2—in the Department of Cultural Education for Children and Youth. Separate spaces for families with children and youth are set up here. The smallest ones with their parents can spend their leisure time not only by reading but also by playing sensory and interactive games. For older children—a tree of knowledge, an interactive house with a variety of educational games is installed here. For youth—sensory and discovery spaces for constructing, working on a computer, or engaging in other pleasant activities are available. A drawing club is operating here, inviting everyone willing to improve their drawing skills. Here, people of different ages, with the help of a professional artist, draw together, develop their skills, and share creative ideas.
A modern event hall and a professional sound recording studio is installed, free to use with a help of our staff.
Visitors can find here not only a carefully formed collection of publications but also an innovative borrowing-return system that enables an easy self-service.
The department’s premises were modernized after implementing a project funded by the European Union funds and the state. Over 1.3 million euros were allocated for this.
