Virtual events are the library’s way to build positive relationships

Youtube

Library users, who do not have the opportunity to participate in the events of Panevėžys County Gabrielė Petkevičaitė-Bitė Public Library, can watch them on the library’s Youtube channel (in Lithuanian). Every week the channel is updated with new event recordings, and people can watch most of the events live. This makes it even more convenient to use the library services!

Panevėžys County Gabrielė Petkevičaitė-Bitė Public Library always strives to listen to the library users’ needs and be open to new ideas. The recent pandemic in Lithuania has limited visits to cultural institutions and have disrupted the normal work of libraries. Bitė’s Library is no exception. However, by flexibly searching for new solutions, the library found ways to build a positive relationship with each visitor. Because library users have been expressing the need to participate in events remotely for some time, the library staff decided to welcome the summer of 2020 by offering virtual events.

Live streaming of the Summer Book Fiesta

Throughout the summer, together with various Lithuanian publishers and authors, a virtual bridge Summer Book Fiesta was built. Viewers were invited to watch interviews with publishers and authors at a time convenient to them or to take an active part in the discussions during the live events.

You can watch event recordings on the library’s Youtube channel
(in Lithuanian).

The regional project Literature and Film Days was implemented for the 11th time

An ongoing project Literature and Film Days XI was organised. The project is designed to acquaint the residents of the Panevėžys region with the artists awarded the Lithuanian National Prizes. This year, the format of the event was completely new. People were invited to the library to watch a film and have a conversation with film authors and cast members, or simply to watch recordings of the events at home.

Event recordings are available on the library’s Youtube channel
(in Lithuanian).

Other virtual services

Regional Heritage Dissemination Department invites people of various interests to visit virtual exhibitions. The department is publishing documentary material highlighting the unique topics and cultural realities of different historical periods of Panevėžys region.
