On 12–15 September 2025, Panevėžys County Gabrielė Petkevičaitė-Bitė Public Library was represented by Project Management Specialist Eglė Vaitkevičiūtė at the Erasmus+ thematic seminar “Active Bodies – Active Minds. How to Infuse Erasmus+ Projects with Physical Activity”, organized by the Education Exchanges Support Foundation.
The event gathered 55 participants from 14 countries. Discussions and workshops focused on how physical activity can enrich Erasmus+ projects by fostering inclusion, wellbeing and more engaging learning. Participants explored practical methods such as animal flow, acro yoga and sensory activities, and reflected on the importance of balancing mental and physical work.
The seminar also provided valuable opportunities for networking. Eglė established contacts with seven organisations from six countries, paving the way for future cooperation in Erasmus+ KA210 and KA220 projects.
The programme culminated in the initiative“Run with Erasmus+”, held during the Vilnius Marathon on 14 September 2025. The event brought together around 600 participants – teachers, lecturers, adult learners and staff of various organisations – who jointly completed a symbolic 5 km distance through the streets of Vilnius. This highlighted that physical activity is an integral part of education, community spirit and everyday wellbeing.
Key insight: physical activity is not only about sports – it is a tool for creativity, resilience and community building. In today’s world, where mental work often dominates, both institutions and society need to rethink how to maintain balance between body and mind in daily life, education and professional environments.
